Young Writers!

Are you a young writer in the NW Ohio / SE Michigan area?

Do you know you want to write – maybe even make a career from writing – but you don’t feel like you have a good foundation to build from? And who wants to wait until college for that? Maybe you even want to go to college or trade school for something else, but still want to be a writer.

Do you feel like you can’t talk about your writing because none of your friends understand?

FAQ

Do I Need To Have Writing Experience?

Nope! Whether you’ve written a thousand stories, or have an idea for just one, all writers are welcome!

What If I Haven’t Attended Previous Classes?

This is totally fine. We revisit topics often to ensure the concepts are reinforced regularly. If you don’t know what something is, you are in a safe environment to ask with no ridicule. This gives our other writers a chance to explain concepts and terms as well, which helps them learn too!

Everything is a positive teaching moment.
One-on-One time with Cassandra is also available for free to bring you “up-to-date” if that makes you more comfortable as well.

Do You Have A Set Schedule?

Not exactly. Our lectures and workshops are very organic. We discuss what our writers want and need to learn instead of sticking to a strict curriculum. That can sometimes change depending on what happens from class to class, so we like to leave topics open-ended.

We sometimes do fun workshops, like our “how to write romance” for Valentine’s Day, and participating in NaNoWriMo in November.

Also, due to where we live in the world, weather can sometimes play a part in if classes are canceled, or topics rearranged. Don’t worry – you’ll be notified either by Cassandra or one of your new writer friends.
