My Newest Coffee Obsession

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I have a slight obsession with coffee. I’m lucky that Toledo has a plethora of little coffee shops and no shortage of dedicated and knowledgeable baristas.
Today I finally found someone who made a proper Macchiato.
A proper macchiato, you ask? You mean, the Macchiato at Starbucks isn’t a real Macchiato?
Not exactly.

Macchiato simply means “to mark,” and most coffee shops interpret it to mean Steamed Milk Marked with Espresso. But originally, it was the other way around: Espresso marked with a dash of steamed milk.
Now, don’t get me wrong! I LOVE me a good froo-froo Macchiato latte. I drink them all the time. But since I had the opportunity to try a true Macchiato the way it was intended, you better believe I jumped at that chance.

If you are a coffee addict like me, and you’re traveling through the Toledo, Ohio area, I highly recommend you give The Rustbelt Coffee Shop’s traditional Macchiato a try!

You can find them HERE.
