On a similar note, this transitions well into the Fourth Aspect of Character: Wants vs Needs.
Whatever your character WANTS has to be in opposition with what they NEED to do to accomplish the story’s goal. Every person, every character, wants something, and they think they have all the answers in how to accomplish that goal. But what your character needs is to LEARN something.
Here’s an example:
In Toy Story, Woody WANTS to stay Andy’s favorite toy. What he NEEDS is to learn how to share.
