About the Author
Writing has been in my family long before I was even born. One of my earliest memories is banging out gobbledy-gook on my uncle’s typewriter, then running into the next room to share my “story” with my family. So, when I didn’t outgrow this knack for writing, my family wasn’t surprised.
As I grew up, my priorities changed, and my writing was set aside. I began to pursue other passions I had in the animal industry. I attended a vocational school where I learned how to care for different animals, and I worked in one part of the animal industry or another for over fifteen years. I married my high school sweetheart, and tried to go back to school for a biology degree. As luck would have it, that didn’t work out too well, and I now work as the office manager at the business my husband and I own and operate. It’s definitely a far cry from working with animals, and I do miss it very much.
Lucky for me, I get to work with a number of fabulous animal rescues in my area, and I foster kittens – mostly little bottle babies. The feedings every few hours and lack of sleep are totally worth it, though. Plus, I can bring my charges to work with me!
Currently, I reside in a small suburb of Toledo, Ohio with my husband and my 5 fur babies (Ailurette, Aster, Pixie, Ankhanra and Anukis). I enjoy editing small indie films, and helping as a production assistant on small indie film projects, mostly based in Detroit. I participate in The Society for Creative Anachronism and attend TICA cat shows with Ankhanra (Ra) and Anukis (Nuki), and occasionally some of my foster kittens. My favorite color is purple, my favorite food is my grandmother’s homemade sweet gerkins, and my guilty pleasure is watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Fall is my favorite season, and Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday!
